CHOGM 2020 Rwanda - Announcement
UPDATE: No decision has been made yet about CHOGM in light of the COVID-19 Coronavirus global pandemic. The Commonwealth are currently monitoring developments and will update member countries soon. For the latest information see here.
The next Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting has been announced to take place in Kigali, Rwanda in 2020. Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland announced that it will take place in Kigali Convention Centre during the week starting 22 June.
As with all CHOGM events, a specific theme has been chosen and for the 2020 event it has been confirmed to be ‘Delivering A Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming’ building on the 'Toward a Common Future" theme of CHOGM 2018. Five sub-themes have been identified for discussion: Governance and Rule of Law, ICT & Innovation, Youth, Energy and Environment, and Trade.
CHOGM 2020's announcement coincided with the launch of the following video and a new CHOGM 2020 website for all the latest news, build up and information about the upcoming event.
