CHEC Projects

The Commonwealth Human Ecology Council (CHEC) and its subsidiary charity, the Human Ecology Foundation (HEF), support small organisations around the Commonwealth by providing grants for projects that support the improvements of livelihoods and sustainable development.  The aim is to meet community needs that are too small to be considered by major grant giving bodies.  CHEC and HEF endeavour to support Commonwealth actions to improve human health, education, the environment and ability to cope with climate change, and the goal of reducing the gendered power dynamics that often reflect and perpetuate inequality and discrimination.
