Philipp Mitterbauer
UK Trustee
Philipp is Head of Tax at a wealth management firm in London. His passion for Africa started in November 2014 when he took part in the Bread & Water for Africa UK African cycle challenge in Tanzania. He cycled up to 100km a day along a route that took him on dirt roads and up steep inclines around the foothills of Kilimanjaro finishing on the crest of the Ngorongoro crater. He and nine other participants raised more than £40k for the charity which supports projects in Burundi, Ethiopia, Mozambique Sierra Leone and Uganda. During this journey he visited a Maasai school to see with his own eyes the local situation of the native people and their need for support. This visit had a lasting impact on him. Over the years, Philipp has been a continuous supporter of various charities in Africa, including Bread & Water for Africa UK and the Land & Life Foundation. He has been a member and supporter of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Amnesty International for many years.
