The Commonwealth Human Ecology Council Newsletter - February 2019

Thismonth the CHEC has been focusing on waste and recycling. We have beenpublishing several articles about the topic on our website. We have been writing about the environmental consequences of fast fashion and how to reduce clothing waste. It is full of fascinating facts and useful tips on how to be an environment-friendly consumer. We have also provided an overview of waste and recycling throughout the Commonwealth detailing how different countries are addressing the issues that waste and recycling poses. We are also finalising a longer article on plastic waste and recycling – watch this space!

Weare happy to announce that we have started the process towards our next Journal, the 29th issue of Human Ecology.  In Journal 29 we want to focus on the development of environmental education and what we need to do in education to improve our behaviour towards our threatened planet. We aregrateful for contributions to the journal. You can find more information about the upcoming Journal and how to contribute on our website here.

Wehave also started a new project where we will interview the people behind the Commonwealth Human Ecology Council. This is an opportunity for all of you to geta better understanding of who we are and what we wish to achieve with our work. The first interview will be published shortly.

Next month we are going to focus on food and the environmental consequences of our eating habits and choices. We can promise you many interesting articles about this topic.
