John studied Ship Chartering at the City of London College and has 20 years of experience as a Purser on large passenger liners. He eventually came to study Health and Hygiene and became a member of the Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene. Zena Daysh invited him to become CHEC’s Treasurer 22 years ago, shortly before John began an Antiquarian Bookselling business in 1976. John is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Chairman of the local branch of NADFAS (National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies) and Vice Chairman of the Mayfair Group for Cancer Research. John is a Liveryman of the City of London (Worshipful Company of Scriveners) and an Associate Member of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners.
